My name is Irit Gilan Maimon, designer and maker, owner of studio iGiMai. I use clay, wood, paper and light as raw materials for my creations.
The ceramic tableware I create are useful, personal, intimate and one-of-a-kind, and are made in the studio with lots of love and attention to quality. All the pieces are handmade and inspired by nature and the Wabi-Sabi philosophy that finds beauty in the imperfection, personal touch and uniqueness of the moments and objects that surround us.
Alongside them, my photographs, are a collection of moments of silence, observation, excitement and connection to the surrounding. Pieces of reality and landscape, which, like the ceramic creations, I treasure and preserve forever.
The studio is located in a small village north of Tel Aviv, bordering orchards and strawberry fields and close to a green forest. The studio hosts workshops, courses and concept events of creation and connections. Connections to material, between humans and the personal moment.
I have a Master's degree in Design, a Master's degree in Business Administration, a Bachelor's degree in food engineering and a Graduate of Photography studies. Over the years I have been involved in the development of ideas and products in a wide variety of worlds, both in the creative districts and in the business world.
